Ms. Kaylee Johnson is your February 2024 Student of the Month!

We are proud to recognize Ms. Kaylee Johnson for her outstanding academic achievements, exemplary community service, and dedication to excellence. Kaylee, a senior at Roosevelt High School, has continually demonstrated her commitment to making a positive impact in her community and beyond.
Throughout her high school career, Kaylee has been actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including the National Honor Society (NHS) and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Her involvement in these organizations reflects her dedication to scholarship, character, leadership, and service, which she embodies inside and outside the classroom.
Kaylee's passion for community service is evident in her extensive volunteer work at local establishments such as the Glen A. Jones Memorial Library, the Weld County Food Bank, and the Catholic Charities Guadalupe Center. Reflecting on her experiences, Kaylee shared, "I wouldn’t be playing my part if I didn’t contribute to making our community better."
In addition to her academic and volunteer commitments, Kaylee has excelled in her studies, maintaining an impressive 4.1 GPA and earning recognition on both the high honor roll and the principal's list. She has participated in the Work-Based Learning program and completed an internship with Dr. Cara Brown at Johnstown Family Physicians, where she gained valuable experience in the healthcare field.
Quoting from her application essay, Kaylee expressed her deep appreciation for the community that has shaped her, stating, "I believe that the service we put into our community is what makes us stand out."
Mrs. Kayla Sommers, Kaylee's Science and Health Science instructor at Roosevelt High School, was selected as the Rotary Teacher of the Month by Kaylee herself. Mrs. Sommers, humbled by the honor, praised Kaylee's determination and drive as a student, highlighting her exceptional qualities as a high achiever.
Looking ahead to her future, Kaylee is excited to begin her RN program at Aims in Greeley and pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She envisions herself working in a hospital setting while earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a long-term goal of securing a position in the labor and delivery department.
